The Gloucester Old Spot is an established favourite on Bristol’s dining scene that’s popular with couples, families and groups of friends alike. Situated in Horfield, within easy reach of bustling Gloucester Road, the independent pub sparks joy with a cosy and quirky interior, a colourful and spacious beer garden and an exquisite food and drink offering that covers all bases….
We stopped off here after a Spring event on horfield common as its only a quick walk away. It is a real family friendly pub with a great garden for kids young and older and welcoming for our dog too. It was busy but we got a table. The beers and gin and tonics were great, and our food was superb. The staff here are really welcoming and friendly. 5 stars from us, we cant wait for our next visit.
We went for breakfast on a sunny bank holiday. Service was great, attentive but not too much. The breakfast was delicious! Good quality ingredients and cooked very well. The garden is a lovely place to sit and it has a covered area and a childrens play area. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
We decided to have my birthday meal here and as there were six young children included in the party it was a good choice, as it has a rear garden which is child friendly. It has a good choice of beers and a pretty good food menu. As it was a large party we were asked to pre order our food which worked well and was delivered to our table within a couple of minutes of the ordered time.
Really nice food, friendly service and easy to park nearby. Even though pigs fair in the logo and inside the restaurant, there was a variety of dishes. We opted for the bangers and mash (tasty and big portion) and the chicken club Sandwich (had everything in it, really good).
This is our friends regular haunt and I can understand why. Very friendly Owner who is hands on and enthusiastic about making her business a success. Good selection of beers, great food and a child friendly beer garden with activities and AstroTurf. I can imagine it can get rowdy with kids on occasion, however there are quieter seats inside nearer the bar where a pint and kindle can be enjoyed relatively unscathed. They are now open for breakfast which looked interesting – maybe next time!
Great service, friendly and engaging. We stopped for breakfast – Very tasty and good value for money we thought. Worth the visit.
Their rear is partially covered, but the rest has artificial grass. And a fantastic play area. The venue is great for kids food is well cooked and priced Parking is good and a park just down the road.
A gorgeous pub, cosy and welcoming. Has both a table service restaurant part and non-table service area, both of which are lovely. Fab staff, quick service and a lovely atmosphere created. To top everything off the food I had was amazing. Fabulous flavours, perfect portion size; I can’t rate highly enough!
