We absolutely love The Gloucester Old Spot. Not only have we photographed weddings here multiple times, but we also chose it for our own wedding party — which says it all really.

The space is bright, colourful and full of character, making it such a great choice for a relaxed wedding reception or celebration. The team are always so welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere is spot on for couples who want something a bit more laid back without losing that special occasion feel.

It works so well for speeches, food and getting everyone together before the dance floor kicks off later in the evening. We can’t recommend it enough as a Bristol wedding reception venue.

Food was amazing, big portions, great service. Would highly recommend!

Popped by for a delicious Sunday roast – it was so good I forgot to take a photo. Great vibe, excellent service and outstanding food! 100% recommend – will be back next time we’re visiting Bristol.

Had a great night at the Gloucester Old Spot last night to celebrate my friend’s birthday, the Bristol Pie Society sweet potato pie was amazing! and the service was great, Sam went out of his way to provide an excellent service. I will be going back there!

We had a wonderful time at the Gloucester Old Spot for the reception following a family wedding. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, helpful and very hard working and the atmosphere was great. We’d love to pay a return visit on a regular day. Would highly recommend.

We can’t thank Amy & her team at the Old Gloucester Spot for making our Wedding Day so special from the 1st time of meeting her nothing was to much trouble, even decorating the pub with our personal stamp on the already beautiful quirky decor of the pub, We arrranged for extra flowers & balloons for the tables just to put our stamp on the place matching our colour scheme! The hog roast menu was outstanding our guests now still commenting on how wonderful the food was, followed by the mini desserts Selection, guests were being constantly be topped up with our welcome Prosecco by her team! Who were a very friendly bunch, pizzas for evening were amazing too! All in whole we had the most perfect day, in every way & nothing but compliments to Amy & her team from our guests a lot saying they will be revisiting to try the pub menu after how much they enjoyed the food.

We are still completely overwhelmed — in the best possible way — by how magical our wedding at the Gloucester Old Spot was. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your venue didn’t just meet our expectations — it exceeded them in every way imaginable. It felt like stepping into a dream, and somehow, everything we’d hoped for became real. Every detail was perfect — the stunning atmosphere, the thoughtful presentation, the incredible drinks, the unforgettable food — all of it delivered with such care and quality. You created not just an event, but an experience that we and our guests will treasure forever. We’ve been flooded with messages from our loved ones, all saying the same thing “That was one of the most beautiful, seamless, and joyful celebrations we’ve ever been part of.” And that is entirely thanks to you Amy and your team. We had our wedding here on the bank holiday weekend in May and I can honestly say from the moment we booked the marquee everything has been great. Amy was so great with us, always on hand via email to respond to any questions or queries and was so accommodating for us aswell. The big day came and I can’t fault them! They set up all the decorations just how I wanted it. The food was sooo yummy and our guests also said the same. It was the most relaxed beautiful day we could have ever hoped for. The staff were all amazing and the service was great. Nothing was too much. A wonderful atmosphere and we had the best day ever just gutted we can’t go back and do it again. Thank you all so much! You made our day so memorable xx

This is a hidden gem in Bristol. No matter the occasion you will not be disappointed. It’s not central but worth going out of your way for. Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere. Having run a pub myself I know this is down to competent management and run by someone who really cares and loves what they do.
