My partner and I came here for lunch today (Tuesday 28th), we arrived just after 3pm when the kitchen stops serving their main menu and switch to sandwiches. However my boyfriend really wanted fish and chips and they were so generous and allowed us to have food from the main menu which we really appreciated! The food was amazing, I had spanakopita and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had, fish and chips were great too. You can tell that everything is homemade and made with care. On top of this, sitting in the sunshine in the quiet beer garden, cold drink in hand made for a lovely afternoon. Thank you everyone we will definitely be back!

A regular haunt when in Bristol. This is our friends regular haunt and I can understand why. Very friendly Owner who is hands on and enthusiastic about making her business a success. Good selection of beers, great food and a child friendly beer garden with activities and AstroTurf. I can imagine it can get rowdy with kids on occasion, however there are quieter seats inside nearer the bar where a pint and kindle can be enjoyed relatively unscathed. They are now open for breakfast which looked interesting – maybe next time!

A gorgeous pub, cosy and welcoming. Has both a table service restaurant part and non-table service area, both of which are lovely. Fab staff, quick service and a lovely atmosphere created. To top everything off the food I had was amazing. Fabulous flavours, perfect portion size; I can’t rate highly enough!

I can highly recommend this pub, I went with a family group including 3 children for a Sunday lunch and we were all very impressed. This pub is very child friendly and caters well with children’s portions. The staff are very helpful and the atmosphere was great.

Stopped here for lunch to break up a very long drive and it was perfect. We walked in to the busy and buzzing pub and we were greeted by the very attentive staff. Took a seat in the bar area and ordered our food and drinks at the bar. The bar staff were constantly making sure everyone was looked after. Our food arrived and was absolutely lovely. I had the club sandwich which was served on beautifully fresh bread and was nice and full! My partner had the chicken Kiev’s, which was clearly homemade with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Not from this area but if we ever find ourselves near it, we will definitely be back!!

We had an early supper here with another family and it was such a delightful find! The only downside is we are annoyed we haven’t discovered this gorgeous pub earlier! The staff were so lovely, the facilities outside for children was beyond expectations, service was fab, they have paper straws and wonderful water cups for children. The menu is really attractive with a great price point. The wine list is also fab. If you have children, GO HERE! Such a gem of a place! Nice vibe, really nice decor, clean loos and very friendly staff – thank you! 🙂

Best pub in Bristol. This was a brilliant find after buying my house opposite! Spent six months working from this space whilst renovating home – enjoyed sampling all the dishes on the wonderful menu – my delicious Mexican-influenced cooked breakfast was a daily staple… additionally, exceptionally relaxed but contemporary decor, in keeping with the fab staff… every single one of them. A real credit to the landlady Amy – who has done an A1 job of turning this pub into a brilliant destination venue – offering friendly service to children even pets… She has made the outdoor space a fun, unpretentious and colourful garden area – I really can’t fault the place. Not being a pub goer its the Spot to convert anyone – perfect for a casual coffee and laptop – to an intimate dinner for two or large groups – If anyone has nailed the pub experience for all (with respect to the many regular locals) its this one. 5 stars!!! I’ve visited under Couples, Family, Friends, Business and Solo and sampled Breakfast, lunch and dinner – even a solitary glass of wine watching a quizz night. So lucky to live opposite… Thanks ALL!

Best Bristol pub! We love this pub so much! Fabulous outside space with plenty of seating & great new play castle/house. The staff are super friendly & helpful. The food is great & myself, husband & kids can all eat happily. Not always the case when we’re out as we have two vegans, a vegetarian, couple of meat eaters & a few fussy little ones! Cannot recommend highly enough. Make sure you visit!

We booked the pub for a 50th birthday party and it was a fantastic venue. The decoration and atmosphere were superb. The food was amazing – we had so many positive comments about the buffet from our guests. Well done Gloucester Old Spot!
