The Gloucester Old Spot is an established favourite on Bristol’s dining scene that’s popular with couples, families and groups of friends alike. Situated in Horfield, within easy reach of bustling Gloucester Road, the independent pub sparks joy with a cosy and quirky interior, a colourful and spacious beer garden and an exquisite food and drink offering that covers all bases….
Lovely food, brilliant staff, very very child friendly with an amazing garden for the children to play in.
Great food friendly staff and perfect for dogs
We arrived to a perfectly sunny spot… with a lovely, flat, neat garden. There was a great little fort for young ones and our little girl was quick to make friends. Menu was exactly what we wanted…. yummy burgers and sarnies, scrummy fries and summer salads…. plus my favourite wine on the menu too; picpoul de pinet… We stayed for hours and then strolled to the large park nearby… really rather perfect.
Very good Sunday roast. Perfect beer garden for chilling with friends or family.
Lovely food and great service. Perfect for families or couples or a group of friends. Will definitely be coming back.
My partner and I came here for lunch today (Tuesday 28th), we arrived just after 3pm when the kitchen stops serving their main menu and switch to sandwiches. However my boyfriend really wanted fish and chips and they were so generous and allowed us to have food from the main menu which we really appreciated! The food was amazing, I had spanakopita and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had, fish and chips were great too. You can tell that everything is homemade and made with care. On top of this, sitting in the sunshine in the quiet beer garden, cold drink in hand made for a lovely afternoon. Thank you everyone we will definitely be back!
We stopped off here after a Spring event on horfield common as its only a quick walk away. It is a real family friendly pub with a great garden for kids young and older and welcoming for our dog too. It was busy but we got a table. The beers and gin and tonics were great, and our food was superb. The staff here are really welcoming and friendly. 5 stars from us, we cant wait for our next visit.
We went for breakfast on a sunny bank holiday. Service was great, attentive but not too much. The breakfast was delicious! Good quality ingredients and cooked very well. The garden is a lovely place to sit and it has a covered area and a childrens play area. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
We decided to have my birthday meal here and as there were six young children included in the party it was a good choice, as it has a rear garden which is child friendly. It has a good choice of beers and a pretty good food menu. As it was a large party we were asked to pre order our food which worked well and was delivered to our table within a couple of minutes of the ordered time.
