We’ve played host to leaving parties, birthday bashes, weddings, anniversary parties, wakes and even baby showers! Whether it’s just a table you need, the terrace area or the whole restaurant, we have the experience and expertise to help ensure your event is a success. When it comes to food and drink, we’ll make sure we serve up exactly what you’re looking for. A lavish sit-down meal, buffet, BBQ or even giant paella, we’ve got it covered. We can tailor the food to suit your occasion and cater for all dietary requirements.

We do not charge for room hire and can apply for a late license if you don’t want to wrap it up by 11pm. We even have a disco ball and can clear a dance floor to get your party started in the evening. We have a license for live music, can provide a champagne reception and have a beautiful covered terrace and garden with a children’s play area for your party to enjoy.

Ready for you special day

If you are looking for an elegant but understated wedding, then The Old Spot may be the venue for you. A great atmosphere, good food and plentiful drinks is everything you need for the perfect wedding reception. At The Old Spot you have all of that under one roof. Available to hire any time of the year, we can help add lasting memories to your special day, tailoring all elements to your every need.

On arrival, you and your guests can be greeted by a reception of bubbles and canapés in our large sun trapped garden. Afterwards you can head inside to the restaurant, which can be decorated to suit your taste. Whether it’s a sit-down wedding breakfast or a buffet, we have the ability to tailor the food and drinks menu to suit your day, meaning that all your guests are sure to leave feeling more than satisfied.

If you’d like help with other elements of your wedding, such as flowers, entertainment and photography, please do ask as we would be delighted to help you create the big day you have always dreamt of. We do not charge a venue/room hire fee, but we do require a minimum spend which is date dependant. Here at The Old Spot we understand what a difficult and upsetting time this can be. A time when care is needed, both to give your loved one a fitting celebration of their life, whilst also sheltering yourself from the stress of organising, staffing and catering for such an event. Our team offer an empathetic, personal and high standard of service throughout the preparations and on the day itself.

The Gloucester Old Spot offers a warm, relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal venue for wakes and celebrations of a loved one’s life. Upon arrival we can welcome your guests with unlimited tea and coffees, prosecco, or jugs of fresh juice. Our home-made buffets are a wholesome healthy way to provide something to eat for your guests. We can cater for all the many and various dietary requirements, so that nobody feels left out (or hungry!). More formal meals are of course available on request.
